I am taking a lifeguard class and we have to go down to the bottom of the pool which is 13 feet. The instructors have had us using a feet first surface dive. I get nearly to the bottom, but I am struggling to reach the bottom completly. I can normally reach the bottom with no problem if I just go down head first, but the type of dive that they are having us use seems to be really hard for me. I get within about two feet of the bottom, and then I start to float to the surface. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would suggest crossing your legs, feet together, and crossing your arms over your chest. I used it while in the Navy to pass a third class swimmers test. Good luck!
